A few years ago, I started to run on my treadmill. I stopped when Chris become ill. I started again today.
Twenty-six minutes is what it took me to walk/run a mile, not great, but good for me...and the fact that I got on the treadmill is huge.
Music is a great distraction for me, I can turn my radio up and enter a whole new world. My kids are gone. My problems are gone. My house is standing for the moment. The world can wait.
I love my music loud, fast, and upbeat. I love all types of music, but while exercising it has to be good.
Today, I listened to Bon Jovi while I exercised, the words and beat just get into my soul and I am free for a minute. Maybe, just maybe, I scared a few cats or neighbors while I belted out the words to, "Have a Nice Day," but hey it is my garage and I can scream if I want to, right? My treadmill is in the garage if you haven't guessed; I put Pepper out front as a guard dog...so don't worry.
Boy, it felt so good to run and get out all my anxiety and frustration; I hope to keep the motivation going and run everyday. Remember? I am finding who I am again, and this is a good start...I have to be in here somewhere!
Here are my munchkins last Christmas in their matching PJs.

You go, girl! You deserve some "me" time. And I am impressed...26 minutes is a great time for your first run of the season! I'm glad you are taking care if yourself in little ways, and I'm glad you can find a few small moments of escape and peace.
