Happy 5th Birthday Cody! December 2011

This adorable little boy, is Cody, he is my little boy. Cody turned 5-years-old on December 19th! Cody, formerly Sawyer, came to live with Chris, Riley, and I, and also our two other foster kids on March 4, 2011. When we first met this little guy, he was so confused...he didn't know exactly what was going on, but he sure was excited to meet us! I remember the first time we met Cody he was so talkative, wait, he still is!

Cody loves cars, trucks, motorcycles, anything fast! Cody loves cookies, does not like lettuce, will tolerate carrots, and loves tacos and corn dogs. Cody is a flirt; and can charm the pants off anyone. This kid is NOT shy, unlike my Riley, they are total opposites! He has no fear, and is ready to see the world. Cody can't wait to play sports like his big sister, and is nervous for Kindergarten because he loves his preschool so much. Cody loves playing outside, riding his scooter and bike (I taught him to ride with no training-wheels a month ago). Cody has lots of friends, and is going, going, going, all the TIME! One day, Cody and his friend Cache were playing, and I didn't hear the boys outside anymore so I went out to look for them. Lo and behold, the two boys had their hero capes on and were going door-to-door asking neighbors if they needed, "superhero services;" I wanted to scream "you can't go to strangers houses," but inside I was thinking, "how cute these boys were." Cody loves the movie "Cars" 1 and 2, and loves "Transformers" and "Star Wars." This kid is all BOY!

On December 19th, we celebrated Cody's 5th birthday. On December 21st, we adopted Cody. Then Christmas was a few days later; this little guy will be so disappointed next year when next year the whole WEEK is not dedicated to him!

Fortunately, I plan ahead, and I had bought Cody's birthday gifts before Chris was out of work, so he got some Legos from Chris and I, and Riley got him a "Cars" book, and of course we had to get him some HOT WHEELS! He also got a little remote control car, but it wasn't too great, it broke in the first few days...boys can destroy things fast! Grandma Turner got Cody this awesome Lightning McQueen chair...it isn't so cool when it talks at 6:30 in the morning!

I love my Cody. He makes me smile, drives me crazy with his constant questions, steals all my attention, and he wins my heart every time. He has these big brown eyes, and adorable ears, and littlest nose. He can scream like no other, and whistles (yells) higher than most girls. This boy is going to try my patience, and require many stitches in his life, I hope not too many!

Happy Birthday buddy! We love you, and are so glad you came to our home! Welcome Home!
