August 2011, looking back on this month, I wish I would have hugged my Foster kids a little tighter this month, spent more bonding time with them; this was our last month with them. We were busy transitioning them back to their birth parents, which was rewarding, but sad...they were my babies that I cried with at night, hugged with after visits and nightmares. I can only hope that my time with them was as special for them, as it was, for my family and I. We love you.
My baby turned 8-years-old...where did the time go? Where did my big-brown-eyed baby go with the one little curl sticking up on the top of her precious little head? Riley is my sweet angel, she grounds me back to earth, keeps me sane, and teaches me everyday! Riley is so compassionate, I cannot wait to see the woman she will become, and so smart! Riley loves animals, books, laughing and jokes, making people around her know they are loved. Riley will go out of her way to befriend a lonely kid at school, a kid that is picked on, and will always give of her treats to the bus driver. I love my sweet bug. I can only hope to be like her someday. Grandma Turner took Riley and I up to Sundance for a ride on the ski lifts, it was so fun! It was fun to just hang out with the "girls." The scenery was beautiful and relaxing.
School also started this month...Riley a big 3rd grader with "S," and Cody was waiting to go to Preschool.
