The other night, Chris, Riley, and I were driving in the snow storm that hit our town...it was a pretty bad one, visibility was down and the snow was head on (I know, it sounds like we live in the Tundra).
Anyway, as we were leaving the store, I was driving and....okay, okay, let me say this. I DO NOT like profanity. I DO NOT usually swear. I DO NOT swear in front of Riley, if I can help it....now back to the story.
We were leaving the store, and it was quite a fright...he he, I have to make it good. Anyway, I was driving, and as I turned the corner...okay, one more thing. I do correct Chris when he is driving...he likes to yell at people when he is driving and I DO NOT like him to do it in front of Riley.
Saying this....I was driving and I turned the corner and this man decided to follow me so closely that I couldn't even see his headlights...you know the kind, if I was sitting in the back of my van I could have done a cross stitch because the visibility from his headlights was so good in my backseat.
So, I decided to be cute and slow really down...like 20 in a 45 (it was snowing, and we do live in the Tundra)...I know, I know stupid, but it was snowing, windy, and my baby was in the backseat, if he was to hit me, she would be in the line of fire. Mama bear...I am.
Apparently, this man was giving birth or something because this made the man SO mad that he decided to pass me in the turn lane. Okay...so, I am a good Christian, I try anyway, and I so eloquently raised my glove covered hand (pink ones) and flipped the young man off and said you stupid *sshole!
Suddenly, this tiny angelic voice recites what I have said oh so many times before...."Mom, you should not say bad words...it is not nice."
Enough said...I was schooled by my 6-year-old. Needless to say, next time I should just shut my mouth and cross stitch something in the backseat, maybe a scripture or something about "loving thy neighbor."
Stupid guy.

I am shocked! Good for Riley putting you in your place. Although I admit to have HUGE road rage issues, I do not swear at people. I hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a girl you have! Sounds like you are doing so much right with her, and I am sure she forgives you for your "moment" plus it sounds just a little scary! Glad you are all ok! You do have a little Angle for sure :-)
ReplyDeletep.s. thanks for the complement on my half post, you are way to nice!
It wasn't my dad was it?!! :) I loved this post, Brook. You made me laugh out loud.

I am so dissapointed in you Brook. I cannot believe that you, of all people, would flip me and Jason off just because we were in a hurry to get to the Wal-Mart!lol! I love ya! You're too funny! Thankfully Riley has a good head on her shoulders!
