So, I have been thinking, I need to write some of the things Riley has been saying down. Here I go.
The other day, Chris and I were "trying" to teach Riley about consequences. She was having one of those drama moments and she was crying and very upset...you know the ones. Well, I told her that we all have consequences for our bad behavior and actions. She then asks through tears..."who told you that?"
Some of you many know of Olivia, Riley's best little friend. A couple of years ago, when Riley was just getting to know Olivia (and Olivia was still learning to talk), we were at a BBQ and I asked Riley to go catch up to Olivia who was running away...and she looked back up at me and said..."I am a little afraid of Olivia, she speaks Spanish." We still chuckle about this from time to time when Riley and Olivia are chatting away now that Olivia can talk and doesn't speak Spanish all the time now.
Last year we were at the Stock Parade (horse parade for those of you non-roundupians), and Riley was sitting on the curb while watching the horses go by and simply looked up at me and said..."I bet those horses are wondering, what are all these people doing?"
One day when Riley was sitting in the car seat...oh about 2 years ago, and I was just looking at her and thinking she was so cute...and she looked back and me and said..."are you confused or what?" She still says this from time to time!
This one tops it...it really shows how much she has grown, but Riley and her Aunt Amy were having a conversation and I happen to be sitting near by, when I heard Riley simply say..."don't listen to what my mom says she is crazy, just listen to the important stuff." What?
I think I may have talked about his one before, but it is worth mentioning again....Chris and Riley were having a fun interchange (okay one of our teasing yelling episodes), and Chris yelled, "bring it on little miss"...and Riley yelled back, "bring it on OLD MAN!" I love this because it is Chris' birthday soon...he is getting old. Ha.
Riley is getting to be very sarcastic...I have no idea where she is learning this horrible behavior! Then again...don't listen to me I apparently must be crazy.
