Okay...I know the title to this blog post is a little weird. However, I have to share this story with you all, plus I have to write it down or I will forget!
Riley and I had just left Costco after eating lunch with Becky and her daughters...it is becoming a tradition, I don't know how it happened, but it is our little "thing." . I guess eating a hot dog and drink for $1.50 can't be beat. Plus, the company isn't that bad. He He He.
Anyways, Riley and I were in the car, on our way to drop Riley off at school, when the Ozzy Osbourne song, "Mamma I'm comin' Home" came on...I have a mix on CD that I play once in a while (I know you can laugh all you want that I like Ozzy, I have since I was a kid), but anyhow, Riley says to me, "mom, do you know what this song makes me think about?"
"Ha...," I thought, "what crazy thing is she going to say now!" What came out of her mouth really surprised me.
"What does this song make you think about bug?" I said.
"Jesus, and how he died for us," she said.
Okay, I don't know about you, but I have not been teaching Riley that Ozzy Osbourne teaches about Jesus and his sacrifices for us....I don't know maybe he does, I can't understand all the words (maybe Riley can hear something I can't!)
Have no fear I will not be playing, "Mama I'm Comin' Home" in primary anytime soon. I will be listening much closer though....

ReplyDeleteMAMA I'M COMING HOME:
Times have changed and times are strange
Here I come but I ain't the same
Mama, I'm coming home
Times gone by seem to be
You could have been a better friend to me
Mama, I'm coming home
Took me in and you drove me out
Yeah, you had me hypnotized
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes
You made me cry, told me lies
But, I can't stand to say goodbye
Mama I'm coming home
I could be right, I could be wrong
Hurts so bad, it's been so long
Mama, I'm coming home
Selfish love yeah, we're both alone
The ride before a fall
But I'm gonna take this heart of stone
I just got to have it all
I've seen your face a hundred times
Every day we've been apart
I don't care about the sunshine, yeah
Cause mama, mama I'm coming home
You never know what music does to kids.
ReplyDeleteI too love going to costco for cheap lunch.I wish I lived closer.I would go with you.Maybe when I come in July.We could do lunch,I will be their for a month.
