Picture it....ha. Imagine me as Sophia on "The Golden Girls."
Picture it....Chris and I rummaging through the local DI for Christmas ornaments and decorations for our first year of marriage. We did not have a whole lot of money, and I being a new wife wanted to impress my wonderful husband with a "homemade" Christmas. Boy, was I in a state of fantasy.
Anyway, we found some really cheap Christmas balls for our humble tree, and Chris and I sat up all night cleaning them and making them just right for our first Christmas. My mom was nice enough to give us some lights...which we still use, and since we didn't have any stockings, I looked at the DI for an old red robe and sewed us some stockings; they actually turned out pretty cute.
These precious Christmas balls have adorned our Christmas Tree since 1996 and Chris and I decided that this is the year we would finally "buy" real ornaments for our tree. It is so sad not seeing those dirty, dusty, old balls hanging on our tree, but our stockings still hang with Riley's new "bought" stockings.
So, anyway I just wanted to show you what our new tree looks like. I think it is nice, but it is not my tree...yet. We will make new memories with Riley and the new tree. By the way, I did hang a few of our old ornaments on the tree, just so they did not get forgotten.
I am such a sap.
