With the holidays approaching, Chris and I were talking about when we first met, and began our whole relationship. Chris and I began dating at the beginning of November of 1995, so basically, our first dates were generally holiday themed outings.
One memory that really stuck out in both of our minds, was the the trip to Temple Square to look at the lights with Chris' family...we think most of his brothers, sisters, and their spouses or significant others were there, plus his mom and dad. We can't remember exactly who was there, but we remember the fun! It is special to Chris and I, because Michele whom passed away last year, was able to come with us on this outing, and we both remember laughing so much with her...it will always be a happy memory of Michele for the both of us.
We also remembered a night when Chris' family had a game night with all of the family when we were still dating. Of course, I felt out of place with all of his sisters and brothers because I only have one sister and brother! It was fun, I do remember that. I remember I was always SCUM in that one game I don't remember the name.
Anyway, we were thinking that it would be fun to recreate those times again this holiday season. So, I would like it if you, Jennifer, Desiree, Courtney, and Louise, would comment on this "idea." We were thinking that we would set a date to go to Temple Square. We could all meet at Temple Square at specified time, or those of us in the southern counties could all ride the Trax together and meet Desi at the Temple. The kids would love to be all together and see the lights. Plus, we could all have a cool tradition together or just a one time thing if you want. We are thinking that Dec. 13th around 6:00 or so would be a good day. PLEASE, let me know what you think!
Also, my friend in Cedar City has a tradition in her family, that I thought we could adopt; an adult only, brother and sister, spouse, game night once a year. We could maybe plan this for February or something, if you have any ideas, let me know. Maybe the kids could have a special grandma and grandpa night while the adults have a game night elsewhere, or we can just get babysitters on our own. Either way, it would be fun to get together with you guys and just have a fun adult-game night. Plus, if we plan this a year in advance, we can always know the date, and people can plan way ahead to make sure they are there!
Well, I will leave it up to you guys to let me know if these are good ideas or not! I personally would love to do it.....and yes, I will get Chris to commit (I have my ways)! Ha. Just comment on this post, and I will tell Chris.

So Temple Square would be great although, the 13 is our ward party so that is a no go for my family, but we are good any other time. As for a game night that would be a blast. We should do it twice a year, February would be a good month. So are you guys planning on stopping by moms on christmas? We are going to have Moienahs first birthday party that evening at moms, and would love to have you.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great to me. Greg may not be able to come see lights but that is the toll of working weekends. I for one am all for still going though.
