I was tagged by Judi and Becky, so, I will try my best to do this....
7 Quirky or unkown things about me. (Great, now you will all know how severe my OCD is.)
I apologize ahead of time for any of you that fall asleep while reading. Ha.
1. I love sports, and I always have. I have been playing sports since I was very young. When I was tee-ball age, my mom and dad tried to get me on the only baseball league in Lehi, which was boys. Well, back in the early 80's it was just unheard of that girls played in the boy's baseball leagues. My mom and dad fought...and won. So, I was one of the very first girls to play on the boy's leagues in Lehi (and I was better than most boys), and I continued to play in the league until I was too old to play. Now, girls can do whatever and even have their own leagues, and I like to think that I helped pave the way for the rest! I continued to pursue baseball, and I play pretty well, playing short stop, 3rd base, and catcher. When I was a 9th grader in Jr. High, I decided that I wanted to play on the High School Softball team. I made the team, and my coach informed me that I was the first 9th grader to make the High School Softball team (this was back in 89'). Baseball is such a huge part of my life. I love to play and try to teach Riley, but she seems to like Soccer....ah. As long as she is active in sports I am fine with that!
2. Okay, now a quirky thing. I NEED to have all my books, videos, and really anything with words on the package in alphabetical order! You should see poor Riley when she wants to get a video....I scramble to put it back in order. Nuts....I know.
3. I can be a charmer at times....well mostly in High School. I managed to pass my 10th grade Health class, 11th grade Spanish class, and my 12th grade English class with grades ranging from B to A, and I never even attended them. I simply sweet talked my teachers into giving me a good grade. My mother does not know this, so any of you that will see her soon....shh! She thinks I am the good kid in the family. Ha. Needless to say, I will be watching Riley like a hawk.
4. My senior year of High School, I competed in a Drama competition....my talent was Stand-up Comedian. I actually recieved the "Honorable Mention" from our State Division. I love to make people laugh. I actually try to make people laugh whenever I can...I just love to see people smile. Riley is developing my "witt," and can be quite sarcastic (I hope that does not backfire on me). My goal is to make you laugh everytime you read my blog...I hope it works.
5. Okay, maybe a serious one. Chris and I adopted our Riley...and boy do we love her. We are in the process of trying to get approved for more children. I have always known that I would adopt my children, even since I was a teenager...I just knew. Adoption is an amazing thing, and yes, I know giving birth is also, but adoption is amazing in its own right. The miracles you see while adopting are beyond words; in other words, you can never deny the truthfullness of our Heavenly Father and His love for His children, and the divine intervention of placing these special little ones into the arms of loving parents. Chris and I saw the hand of the Lord in every step of our adoption process, and I know that my Heavenly Father is there and knows my needs...and it is me, who needs more patience and humility. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for my baby, and everyday that I get to spend with her is a true gift from God. Pray for us that we get to experience this again.....
6. Well, now that I have put you on a rollercoaster of emotions, how about another quirky thing about me. I must have a very calculated mind, because if I cannot figure out the most logical and quickest way from point A to point B, I get all aggitated! For example, when I go to open or close my parks, I have the quickest way to get it done in my head. Drive here, turn here, open door, turn here, open door, drive there, unlock the locks, drive back the exact same way. Well, when Chris goes with me....all hell breaks loose! "Why did you not turn at that road, it is much faster!" "Why are you pulling in that way, it is quicker to just pull in there!" "I only go on that road on Sundays because there is no traffic!" And, the worst is, "did you lock the door right?" I am so crazy....poor Chris, I guess I assume he has never locked a door. You want to know the sad thing the other day Riley said to Chris..."why are you going this way to grandma's!" I know, don't even say it.....
7. For most of you that know me, you have heard me say this on more than one occasion. I tend to apologize a lot! I hate it, believe it or not, I do. I guess, I was just raised with to many manners, overload of sorrys. My goal this year has been to NOT apologize for things that I could not, or cannot control. Some of my close friends tease me that if I was ever in an accident and it was not my fault, I would apologize for getting in the way...probably.
Well, to keep up with tradition, I am sorry if these bored you, and I hope I made you laugh.
I now tag: Desi, Courtney, Sara, Rebecca, and Jenny. I would, tag Becky and Mary, but they already have been! Those of you that do not have blogs...get one!
