For about a year now, I have been trying to get Riley to climb the tree in our front yard. Needless, to say all my efforts ended up in screaming, "get me out, I am gonna fall!" Yesterday, my efforts came to a reality! Now, I cannot get her out of the tree; and she wants to climb higher everyday! I don't even have to help her in or out of the tree.
It is great, she is hanging from the limbs of the tree like a jungle gym. She is getting so confident that she will even hang from the limbs and jump down out of the tree. I love it. I loved climbing trees when I was her age; as we had a huge tree in our backyard when I was growing up. I have even told Riley of the many adventures that Uncle Wes, Aunt Amy, and I had in the "grand old" tree in Grandpa's backyard.
Well, I am a proud mom, and love that my Riley is growing everyday, she is a great kid.
However, I wish I could take credit for getting her up in that tree. Riley has taken a liking to the neighbor boy, and he was over playing...needless to say, she was impressing a boy! Where did my baby go? Ah!!! The first thing out of her mouth when getting out of the tree I have dreamed she would climb for over a year was, "do you think Taylor saw me climb the tree?" It is official, I have been lowered on the totum pole. Oh well, at least she is finally in that tree!
