Yesterday, I was rearranging the hard drives on my computer, and I found some photos of our summer. We did a whole bunch of fun things this summer, and since I didn't start blogging until the end of August I thought I would share.
Chris' work has a yearly summer party and this year they took us to Lagoon. Riley loved the rides. Chris and I didn't get to ride any "grown-up" rides, but that is okay, it was fun to watch Riley. We got to Lagoon around 1:00 pm and our first mistake was to ride "Rattlesnake Rapids" first; we were drenched and cold the whole day! However, that didn't stop us! Riley rode a whole bunch of rides, got to eat a churro, watch mom win her a stuffed fish ($10 later), and went in her first haunted house with her daddy. We ended up staying until closing time and we had a BLAST! Needless to say, Riley was fast asleep before the on-ramp.

Later in June, we decided to go camping with Chris' family. We went to the Knolls, which are west of Lehi, on Utah Lake. It is a great spot for camping, four-wheeling, fishing, and hiking the "knoll." We ended up going with Chris' sisters Desiree, Courtney and their families.
It was a hot trip, but I hope everyone had as much fun as we did. It was so great to spend time with Chris' family outside of the normal stuff we usually do with them. We pitched our tents in a circle, and it was like a little wagon train. We had the normal fun stuff....smores, hot dogs, and tinfoil dinners, and of course dutch oven (all a must when camping.)
We went fishing, four wheeling, and hiking. I loved the fishing and four wheeling. Riley went hiking with Uncle Eric, and loved it! We all tried to fish, but the fishing wasn't great, I caught a mudcat, and Riley caught her first fish-a mudcat. I loved it! Four wheeling was one of the only ways to keep cool, seeing as you drive fast enough to get a breeze going. Riley was born riding a four wheeler, and every time I got on the wheeler,
Riley was right behind.
Camping at the Knolls is nothing like when I was a kid; because it is so popular, and because of that we probably won't be night camping there again, but it will always be a fun four-wheeler day trip spot.
Chris and I hope that this camping trip becomes a habit with the family, and we cannot wait to go next summer! It was so much fun getting to know my in-laws in a different light. I liked it.

The "gang."
My messy camper! It isn't fun until your the same color as the ground.
Will post more later!
Fun pics! I need you to teach me some of this computer stuff!!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I thought the camping was a blast and Brandsen and Taylor really enjoyed it.
