Hopefully, I am not boring all of you with our summer! We had a really busy summer this year, and it was great!
I am a Bear Scout leader, and have been for 3 years now, and we really needed some new and "exciting" things to do this summer. So, I thought about taking the boys to the FireHouse Car wash over in American Fork. They were so great to us, and gave us the grand tour. We saw all kinds of things like the big containers that hold the water, the soap dispensers, and the big machines that run the cars through. The manager even took us into the bay where the cars go through....it was so interesting. The boys loved it, and so did I. Riley was able to come with us that day, and she is still talking about our free car wash.
At the first of July, my mom and dad, took Riley and I (Chris was working) up to Silver Lake. It was so nice up there. It has been years since I had been up there. The last time Chris and I went camping up there, we were newlyweds (oh, the good ol' days!) Anyway, we went fishing, and had a nice picnic. Riley is cool, she likes to do all kinds of things, and is not too "girly;" she is not afraid to touch the fish or anything. Of course, like when I was a kid, my dad caught a trout and gave the catch to Riley to reel in. Looking back, I wonder how many of those fish did I really catch, or was it just my dad letting me catch his? Thanks, dad.
My mom and Riley went on a fun hike and found a "pot gut," and Riley adopted it. Really....she fed it treats and it would come right up to her. This "pot gut" must have been adopted before!
I love fishing, and it is one of the memories I will always cherish...fishing with my dad. My dad and I don't always see eye-to-eye, but when we are fishing it is like there is nothing between us. My dad would always take me fishing, almost every weekend, when I was young up until I moved out on my own. Fishing is so peaceful and you can really think about things in this life. I did I lot of soul searching while fishing. Thank you dad, for instilling such a great tradition that I hope I can carry into my children's lives.

Silver Lake is above Tibble Fork (first picture is the road above Tibble Fork and you can see the back of Mt. Timp.) Here is Riley reeling in her fish, with my mom in the background. The other picture is of the adopted "pot gut." The last picture is of Riley riding in Grandpa's truck through the river!
